A Letter from the Pastoral Coordinator
Dear Families,
I’m excited to report that we have a record-setting 371 people registered for our annual Day of Service! Together with volunteers from Holy Rosary, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Vietnamese Martyrs, and St. Joseph, our Parish Family will help serve at over 20 sites in the greater Seattle region this Saturday, April 5. We will pray, care for creation, feed the hungry, give clothes to those in need, support families and immigrants in the community, and reach out to isolated prisoners in need of love. During this time of Partners in the Gospel, it is beautiful to see the Catholic community in our area coming together to share God’s love through service. And Lent is the perfect time to do it! Thank you to all who have supported this day through planning and participation. Jesus calls us to this type of action in Matthew 25 and also promises that we will encounter Him when we serve those in need. If your faith life needs a little kickstart, why not join us? If you didn’t get a chance to sign up, you can still join the drop-in projects at St. George School Hall (9am-1pm) or Our Lady of Guadalupe Gym (9am-2pm) to “Craft for a Cause”. We’ll be making various items to support the work of a number of non-profits in the region. Register at https://app.formcrafts.com/31e6f0c3 or just drop by! You can also join us for the rosary at 8:30am at St. George in the church.
Peace, Jennifer Ibach jibach@stedwardparish.net
Stations of the Cross and Lenten Meals

All are invited to join us for weekly Stations of the Cross and Lenten Meals every Friday. We will pray the Stations of the Cross at 6pm in the Church and then share a Lenten, meatless meal in the Hall. Our four South Seattle Parishes will rotate hosting each week. Join us this Friday, April 4 at St. Edward (trilingual English-Spanish-Khmu’) and the following Friday, April 11 at St. George (live stations and meal hosted by the school). We provide guides to help you pray the Stations and reflect on the Passion of Jesus. Our priests are also available for individual confession during the Stations.
Mariners Fundraiser for St. Vincent de Paul Conference

The Mariners are back in full swing and we’re headed to the game on Friday, August 8 at 6:40pm. Join us for a night of baseball and community while supporting the combined St. Peter-St. George-St. Paul St. Vincent de Paul Conference. Watch the M’s take on Tampa Bay at T-Mobile Park and join the first 20,000 fans for a free Ichiro jersey! Tickets are just $30 at the 300 level and $50 at the 100 level. Proceeds will help provide food, financial assistance, and other essential supports to neighbors in needs. For more information, contact the Parish Office.
Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl: Protecting Crops from Natural Disasters in Bangladesh

Shahadat’s village, and much of Bangladesh, is located on flat lowlands. The intense rainy season causes flooding that often destroys farms and crops. Find out how Shahadat learned new farming skills from a Catholic Relief Services program that enabled him to increase the yield of his vegetable crops despite the challenges of climate change. Visit crsricebowl.org/week-4 to read this week’s Story of Hope. Rice Bowls will be collected on Holy Thursday, April 17.
Holy Week Schedule

We begin Holy Week with the celebration of Palm Sunday, April 12 and 13. We will begin our Masses with an outdoor procession (weather permitting). All are invited to join us for our Triduum liturgies leading up to Easter Sunday. We will have a Holy Thursday Mass on Thursday, April 17 at 6pm in Vietnamese at St. George and at 7pm in English and Spanish at St. Edward (remember to bring your Rice Bowl donations). On Good Friday, April 18, we will have Live Stations at St. George with the school at 8:30am and liturgies at 6pm at St. George in Vietnamese and 7pm at St. Edward in English and Spanish. The Easter Vigil will be celebrated at 6pm at St. George in Vietnamese and at 8:30pm at St. Edward in English and Spanish. The regular Saturday Masses are not happening that evening. Easter Sunday, April 20, will follow our usual Sunday morning Mass schedule with the addition of a Vietnamese Mass at 8:30am at St. George. St. Peter will host an Easter Egg hunt and reception after their morning Mass.
