Give thanks with a grateful heart – 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Nov. 21, 2023
Dear St. George Families,
What a special treat today with the amazing turnout of over 153 grandparents and special adults at our chicken adobo luncheon. The cafeteria was packed with love! No one loves a child more, and sees them as absolutely PERFECT, than a benevolent grandparent. Our students are so blessed with loving families!
Thank you to all the families who sent in food and gift cards to help build Thanksgiving Dinner for six families. The fourth graders had fun carrying all the items to the church. It is surprisingly hard it is to carry a frozen 25# turkey two blocks!
Help spread the love of God to a neighbor in need.
Catholic Community Services: Shoe Boxes of Joy are Due Friday, Dec. 1 at Mass. Fr. will bless them before we send their gifts on their way. See the attachment for more information on how to support the homebound.
St. George School is partnering the third Christmas season in a row with Catholic Community Services’ PREPARES (Pregnancy and Parenting support.)

Save the Dates
Thursday, Dec. 14th at 6:30 PM in the church is our Advent Concert.
Doors will open 6:00. This is a mandatory event for all Preschool - 5th grade students and 6-8 graders who are taking music this trimester. The students are working together to create a beautiful piece of music and when classmates don’t show up, it lets the class down.
Any 6th – 8th grade student not performing that night may attend if accompanied by a parent and they MUST sit with their parents in the pews and not congregate in the back. NO child may be dropped off unattended by parents.
The 8th grade families will be hosting a huge bake sale in the vestibule after the concert for a treat for the ride home. Please bring small bills $1, $5 and $10.
Friday Dec. 15th
Everyone is welcome to attend the all-school Mass on Friday Dec 15th.
We will host our First Trimester Honors assembly later at 11:00 in the school hall. All parents are invited to celebrate the hard work of all our students.
Lost and Found will be laid out for families to come sort through too! Our own Mt. St. Helen’s of coats is ready to erupt!
School will dismiss at NOON from the cafeteria and there is NO EXTENDED CARE.
Our school campus will be closed Dec.18 - January 1 for Christmas vacation.
Just a reminder - a neighbor called the school today and requested that we ask our parents parking along 13th north of the school picking up their kids to please be considerate of the neighborhood. She said she often finds garbage on the parking strip – some may fall out of cars when the kids get in or out but todays looked like someone just cleaned out their car there. She also reported that someone was eating pistachios in their car and throwing the shells on the parking strip. When her husband asked him to stop the parent was quite rude to him. Please don’t disrespect our neighbors, either by word or action.
On behalf of all 35 staff members, we are so grateful for all the ways you partner with us as a community. We each feel blessed to be working at St. George with such wonderful student and families. We are ohana!
We wish all of you a very happy Thanksgiving and hope your weekend is full of joy and good eats!
Your sister in Christ,
Monica Wingard
